Rhodochrosite with Quartz and Sphalerite

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3440ETM

A peculiar discovery from 2021 in the Austria Duvas Mine, where these rhodochrosites appeared in rosette shapes associated with Quartz and minor Sphalerite. Their striking resemblance to the rhodochrosites from Cavnic, Romania, is curious to the extent that at mineral shows, Romanian dealers seeking pieces for their home market sometimes get confused and believe that they are from their own country.
In any case, they are truly pretty, and this one, in addition, quite big.

Austria Duvas Mine, Morococha District, Yauli Province, Junín Department Peru (07/2021)

Specimen size: 15.4 x 9.8 x 7.8 cm

€440 / US$468 / ¥71790 / AUD$720

SV3340EPZ

Floater Copper group of good size, twisted and partially replaced by Malachite, very characteristic of the Bou Nahas Mine.
It is one of those pareidolia-generating pieces whose shape strongly resembles that of a horse (or a dragon)

Fluorite with Quartz

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3180NTR

A group of large Fluorite crystals heavily coated by Quartz, somewhat larger than usual for this locality, giving them an unusual, yet beautiful appearance.

El Hammam, Ait Mimoune, Khémisset Province, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Region Morocco

Specimen size: 9.7 x 8.5 x 5.4 cm

Main crystal size: 5.1 x 4.2 cm

Erythrite with Quartz

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3490TBF

It is not easy to find an Erythrite in good condition. Old or very old pieces are sometimes more competitive than modern ones, although their color can also be darker.
This old piece embodies many qualities such as perfection and the abundance of crystals, and those small sharp Quartz crystals are a big help.

Bou Azzer Mines, Bou Azzer mining district, Ouarzazate Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region Morocco

Specimen size: 5.2 x 4.1 x 3.7 cm

Main crystal size: 1 x 0.5 cm

Vanadinite

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3440NFX

A great discovery, like the one that occurred in the Coud’a area, Mibladen, between April and May of 2019, yields exceptional pieces but also “satellite” pieces, pleasant ones, that due to the magnitude of the find, can be reasonably priced.
This is a piece on matrix, and it is in perfect condition. Its color is pleasant, and overall it is a good representative of the species for any collection, as evidenced by its previous stay in the Miguel David Martínez collection with the number 761. We will send the label to the buyer.

Coud'a, Mibladen mining district, Mibladen, Midelt, Midelt Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region Morocco (04-05/2019)

SV390ETE

With a little initial confusion due to the lack of precision about the real locality, these “window” quartzes are gradually gaining recognition on the mineralogical circuit.
With their luster and beautiful architecture, they are helping to complete the already extensive inventory of minerals from the generic “Imilchil” area.

Tighiste (Tirrhist), Imilchil area, Anti-Atlas, Er Rachidia Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region Morocco

Norway has some fame for the calcites from this mine. Their color, luster, and the multiple growths on the crystal faces are very characteristic, just like this piece.

Goethite coating Siderite

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3140TPZ

A brilliant piece. The Siderite specimens from this forgotten locality were once a subject of debate because their appearance resembled Goethite. However, this is actually due to the presence of Goethite, which forms a thin layer covering the outer part of the Siderite “stalactites”!
As is often the case, mineral collection and preservation prove to be valuable to the field of mineralogy.
