Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3220NNM

Elegant, with good definition of the main crystal, an undamaged floater.
A great choice by Antonino Bueno to have it in his collection. With the very white Dolomite providing contrast, it reminds us of how splendid a metallic sulfide can be.
We will give Antonino's original label to the buyer.

Áliva Mine (Las Mánforas Mine), level 2, Áliva mining area, Camaleño, Comarca Liébana, Cantabria Spain (2007)

Specimen size: 6.7 x 3.3 x 2.9 cm

Main crystal size: 3 x 2.2 cm

Former collection of Antonino Bueno

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3180NXF

Antonino Bueno, one of the great field collectors in the Áliva area, had it in his collection, and although the crystals are rough, when you shine a little light behind it, the miracle appears!
A floater, complete, and undamaged, we will give the buyer Antonino's original label.

Áliva Mine (Las Mánforas Mine), level 4, Áliva mining area, Camaleño, Comarca Liébana, Cantabria Spain (2002)

Prehnite with Calcite and Orthoclase

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3130TXX

These pill-shaped calcites on the typical Prehnite from the area are quite curious.
Many pieces like this were floaters, which is why quite a few of them were saved. Now they are remnants of a past splendor, as as is often said: 'Nothing comes out anymore from there'.

Isabel Quarry (La Saludadora Quarry), La Cabrera pluton, Valdemanco, Comarca Sierra de Guadarrama, Community of Madrid Spain

Goethite

SV3220EPP

Although not very famous, the Haiti mine has also yielded botryoidal goethites, sometimes of good quality. This specimen is a perfect example of this, with the Goethite/matrix relationship well balanced, with slight iridescence and a lot of luster in the Goethite groupings.
It was in the collection of Miguel David Martínez with number 1818 and we will send its label to the buyer of the specimen.

Haití Mine, Cabezo de San Ginés, San Ginés de la Jara, Cartagena, Comarca Campo de Cartagena, Region of Murcia (Murcia) Spain (2016)

Goethite coating Quartz

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3390EXL

A great piece from the San Valentín Quarry. The Quartz crystals are of good size, the Goethite that covers them has intense iridescence and the whole thing has a strange beauty. There is a slight saw cut on the back that barely impacts the visual appearance of the specimen.
This piece was in one of the great collections of that area, that of Mariano Guillén. His collection passed to that of Miguel David Martínez with the number 1700 and whose label we will send to the buyer of the specimen.

San Valentín open pit, Sancti Espíritu, Sierra Minera de Cartagena-La Unión, La Unión, Comarca Campo de Cartagena, Region of Murcia (Murcia) Spain

Hemimorphite with Calcite

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3380TXX

Very different from others, this curious Hemimorphite occurs in groups of small crystals with an intense pearly luster, which contrasts with the brown Calcite of the base.
Just what I said: different.

San Antonio Mine (San Antonio el Grande Mine), East Camp, Santa Eulalia District, Municipio Aquiles Serdán, Chihuahua Mexico

Baryte with Dickite and Cuprite

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3190TLP

Good Baryte (for the locality) from the very famous Milpillas Mine, as attested by the small Cuprite crystals in the matrix and its two previous owners: Peter Megaw, and Bill and Diana Dameron, whose labels we will send to the buyer.

Fluorite (octahedral) with Quartz and Chlorite

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3420ELX

Always desired and always very expensive, pink or reddish octahedral fluorites are one of the classics of French mineralogy. In this case, the piece does not pretend to be fantastic, but the Fluorite crystals are sharp, have good color and transparency and, above all, they are well placed on their slightly smoky Quartz matrix.

Azurite with Malachite after Cuprite and with Baryte

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3240EEJ

The Azurite is in good condition, the groups of Azurite crystals forming two spheres. With several Cuprite crystals pseudomorphed by Malachite (not very green in this case), they give this combo a high enough level that it can be considered a quality piece for this prolific deposit. The magnificent blue of the Azurite helps. Scattered through the piece are the characteristic granular barytes, almost always reddish due to the presence of iron oxides.
Chessy is the type locality for Azurite.

A little eroded by the passage of time, but it is fascinating how the Cuprite pseudomorphed by Malachite has resisted perfectly and stands gracefully on the Azurite. Throughout the piece there are also the characteristic granular barytes, almost always reddish due to the presence of iron oxides.
Chessy is the type locality for Azurite.

Small but nice Azurite crystal. A doubly terminated floater, it forms a rosette and bears the 'signature' of the locality, namely a Cuprite crystal pseudomorphed by Malachite. The omnipresent whitish granules of Barite are also there.

Cassiterite with Quartz

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3230ETF

This is truly a rarity. Coming from Engineer Fernando Soares Carneiro, it is an isolated Cassiterite crystal, a floater of very good size, which comes from a locality about which I, personally, knew almost nothing, besides that it was part of the group of tin mines in the Tras-os-Montes area.
In short, this is a super-rarity and its quality, for such a little known locality, is reasonable.

Opal

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV390NPG

San Valentín is a very special quarry that has produced a great variety of species even though it is in a region that is not usually known for being mineralogically diverse.
Among the curiosities of this locality is this very red Opal found by Miguel David Martínez, and that was in his collection with the number 854.

Cerussite with Goethite

Fluorescent light (daylight)

SV3220NXB

The best known specimens from the San Valentín Quarry are the Cerussite pseudomorphs after Anglesite, and covered by iridescent Goethite, but sometimes the cerussites are not pseudomorphs after Anglesite and sometimes they are not covered by Goethite either. This is the case here, and furthermore, although the Cerussite crystals are not very big, they are very pretty and in perfect condition.
The piece is very unusual because it was in one of the large collections in that area, that of Mariano Guillén and from his collection it went to that of Miguel David Martínez with the number 887.
