Quartz (variety rose quartz) with Eosphorite

Fluorescent light (daylight)

TLR66AP9: Group of Quartz crystals (variety rose quartz) with very marked polycrystalline growths, translucent, with good luster and an intense and uniform pink color, associated with small transparent brown Eosphorite crystals.
The specimen, which has very large crystals for this quartz variety, comes from the Paul Muse collection.
Ilha claim, Taquaral, Itinga, Vale do Jequitinhonha, Minas Gerais  Brazil

Specimen size: 11 × 8.8 × 3.2 cm = 4.33” × 3.46” × 1.26”

Main crystal size: 3.7 × 2.1 cm = 1.46” × 0.83”

EYA26AP1: Specimen from a deposit discovered in 2017 and located at some distance from the previously known locality in Serra do Caldeirão, but with different characteristics. In this case a floater group of well-formed elongated Gold crystals, with curvatures on some of their faces and edges and with spinel-law twinning.

SV3440TJJ:

After the first significant gold discovery in Serra do Caldeirão in 2015 (An opportune harvest of Gold in Serra do Caldeirão claims, Brazil), there have been new small finds in the area. Specifically, this Gold is from 2017 and is from the Serra Dourada area.
Compared to the others, it has an excellent color and the crystal faces are more rounded than those of golds from the Serra do Caldeirão.
Serra Dourada, Pontes e Lacerda, Alto Guaporé District, Mato Grosso  Brazil (12/2017)

Specimen size: 1 × 1 × 0.5 cm = 0.39” × 0.39” × 0.20”

Weight: 2.4 grams

TC86AD5: A novelty at Tucson 2016. Parallel aggregates of very sharp and well defined octahedral crystals, with sharp skeletal growths. According to our sources the site is not supplying new specimens for collectors so new finds are not expected. We analyzed these Golds and they are really special. They contains a 99.1% Gold and about a 0.5 % Rhodium, which is quite uncommon. We’ll send a copy of the analysis to the buyer.

The specimen has been reviewed, photographed and published in the magazine ‘Mineral Up’ on page 40 of the 2016/02 edition.
