ED68V0: Group of short prismatic crystals, rich in faces, between transparent and translucent, with a lemon yellow color and on Galena matrix. The sample is from a very classic locality for the species. Only very rarely is it possible to obtain old samples of this quality, and still more infrequently with a yellow color. It’s from a well known European collection whose label we’ll send to the buyer.

LP89AK0: Group of very sharp, transparent and very bright crystals with small inclusions, almost colorless but with intense and fine violet colors on the edges. The specimen, of extraordinary quality for what is known at the site, is from the Philippe Morelon collection (number 803) whose label, which includes more information on the back, will be sent to the buyer.

MA63L8: Group of Rutile crystals that show perfect cyclic twins on a matrix of Limonite and Quartz. Very bright, striated faces and deep red color transparency and reflections visible under an intense light. Although the first locality given in the market was D.R. of Congo, we can give the correct locality as Zambia, close to the D.R. of Congo border.

MB60L8: Group of Rutile crystals, one of them of good size, on a limonite matrix that resembles a conglomerate. The Rutile crystals display a perfect example of the classic cyclic twin, with very bright, striated faces and a deep red color, visible in transparency and reflections under intense light. Although the first locality given on the market was the D.R. of Congo, the correct locality is Zambia, close to the D.R. of Congo border.

Kinyanfumbe is located in Mwinilunga District, Northwestern Province, Zambia, within the northern extension of the Central African Copperbelt. The area is underlain by Proterozoic metamorphic rocks of the Lufubu Group and volcano-sedimentary sequences of the Lufilian Belt, affected by Pan-African tectono-metamorphic processes. Local mineralization, of hydrothermal and metasomatic character, includes Quartz, Feldspar, and Be–Nb-bearing minerals formed in pegmatites and veins related to late-tectonic granitic intrusions.

TG89L3: The definitive thumbnail. Extremely well defined Libethenite crystals, with marked pseudo-octahedral habit. Very deep green color, excellent luster and on matrix.
This sample was collected by K. J. Reid in November, 1976, and there is a good paper about this deposit on The Mineralogical Record (Vol. 9 n. 6, Nov.-Dec. 1978)

TXA66AO0: Group of Tarbuttite crystals with unusually sharp crystal forms, transparent, highly lustrous, colorless, and on a limonite matrix. Its history is fascinating since Bob Noble's label states that its origin was the 1929 Vaux expedition and that the specimen belonged to the Philadelphia Academy collection.
We will send the specimen, from the type locality for the species, in its original Perky box from the Robert J. (Bob) Noble collection, which also contains the aforementioned label.

Rutile and Hematite pseudomorph after Ilmenite crystals

Very interesting novelty of 2007 Munich Show: trigonal crystals of Ilmenite transformed into an intimate intergrowth of Rutile and Hematite. Microscopic examination shows that Rutile (reddish) occurs as a delicate network of needles which are oriented parallel to the basal sections of the former Ilmenite, while Hematite (black) forms the interstices.

MBX16CD6: Very special specimen. Three generations of Mimetite coexist, with three different morphologies. Colorless and zoned Mimetite crystals were deposited on the matrix first, followed by another generation of Mimetite crystals with inclusions of Arsendescloizite that give it the showy greenish coloration that can be seen in a good part of the specimen, and finally the largest and best developed more classic Mimetite crystals, yellow in color, and with a crown of crisscrossing crystals at the top of the piece.
The specimen has been analyzed due to its complexity, as is often the case with specimens from Tsumeb.

ME74V2: Crystals of Adamite, in groups and isolated crystals, with very well defined faces and edges, a considerable size for a most usual kind of sample from Tsumeb, with good clear green color typical of the cuprian variety. They are on microcrystalline Olivenite and on matrix. These cuprian Adamites are specially appreciated due their rarity at this locality. A really good “oldie”.

TR66AI3: Druse of polycrystalline Adamite growths on a limonite matrix. The crystals are very sharp and have slightly curved faces. They have an intense deep green color. An excellent classic from Tsumeb, very scarce, and more so with such great quality.
The simple is from the Chris Amo collection whose label we’ll send with another from the Warren Taylor collection (num. 2465P) where the sample was previously.

TA37L3: An extraordinary classic Tsumeb specimen. Very well defined Cuprite crystals, formed by dominant octahedron and cube faces, on a Cuprite matrix covered by a layer of small Dolomite crystals. Cuprite presents an excellent luster and an uncommon transparency for the species, when light reflects on the crystals.
The sample is accompanied by old labels from an unidentified German collection, which we will send to the buyer of this gorgeous specimen.

MLE72CD4: A morphological, structural and genetic complexity. The original very aerial and stalagmitic Enargite crystals have been entirely pseudomorphed by Sphalerite crystals that in turn have been partially covered by white Smithsonite crystals, as well as small disseminations of Galena and Cuprite. How capricious mineral paragenesis can be!
Considering its complexity, the specimen has been analyzed, and the analytical report will be sent to the buyer.
This specimen comes from the collection of Michel Perraudin who, as can be seen in the images, had it wrongly identified, which is no surprise as it is a piece that begged for a very precise analysis, since its visual appearance did not indicate what it finally turned out to be.
