MYF46XXX: Interesting specimen of Köttigite, a rare zinc arsenate, in which well-defined crystals stand out, forming a very visible and airy group, arranged on a ferruginous rock matrix partially coated by Gypsum crystals, on which the Köttigite crystals rest, bright and of an intense bluish-green color.
This type of crystals was found in the mine between the sulfide zone and the oxidation zone and, initially, the miners named this type of specimens ‘blue Legrandite’.

The Ojuela Mine is a historic mining locality located in the Sierra de Mapimí, in Mexico.
It is one of the most important classic deposits in Mexico and a worldwide reference for numerous mineral species, especially lead, zinc and copper sulfides and sulfosalts, as well as exceptional secondary species. The mineralization is associated with a polymetallic hydrothermal system hosted in Mesozoic limestones, with the development of skarns and replacement bodies, which has given rise to an extraordinary mineralogical diversity, with many type localities and numerous specimens of great aesthetic quality.
