The specimen comes from a find from the year 2021, and is characterized by an unusual transparency of the crystals.

MXL99AO0: Parallel growths of Calcite crystals formed by an elongated prism and a very flattened terminal rhombohedron. The translucent crystals selectively show red colorations due to iron oxide inclusions.

A classic polymetallic deposit of the Edong belt, linked to Mesozoic intrusions and hydrothermal systems. Mineralization is mainly hosted in limestones and volcano-sedimentary rocks, with skarn bodies and associated veins, yielding well-crystallized sulfide and secondary mineral assemblages.

TT89AE3: Two generations of Calcite crystals, one of them in small white scalenohedral crystals and the other in two large, colorless, clear and very bright crystals with the faces of a dominant scalenohedron and terminal rhombohedron. They are on matrix, with cubic Pyrite crystals. A very elegant sample, very different from specimens previously seen from the locality.

TVR64AN4: A centered fan-shaped group of very elongated Inesite crystals with sharp crystal forms and good terminations. They are translucent, deep pink in color and on a crystalline ‘Apophyllite’ base with small dark crystals that were initially named Babingtonite-Mn but which, in the end, turned out to be the new species Hubeite.
We will ship the specimen in its original Perky box from the Robert J. (Bob) Noble collection, which also contains the label.

TF71AM8: Fan-shaped groups of elongated and flattened Inesite crystals, with good luster and an intense color, on a group of Quartz crystals covered by small groups of brownish Hubeite crystals. This is the type locality for Hubeite.

MF96: Single crystal, recrystallized at the bottom, of brilliant amethyst with a nice deeply colored phantom inside. Its rear is covered by minor orange Fluorapophyllite-(K). We will provide a copy of the analysis of it to the customer.

MRB46CD5: Group of lenticular Calcite crystals with very marked trigonal shapes, formed by a very flattened rhombohedron and a fine prism. On matrix, transparent-translucent and with growth striations on the faces, which are very well defined, as well as on the edges, and with an internal phantom formed by another trigonal Calcite crystal, more ocher in color and perfectly visible, resulting in a very peculiar geometry.
This specimen comes from a recent discovery in the Hongwei mine, in Daye, China.

Parallel growths of two phases of Calcite crystals, one of them with very well defined grey translucent crystals, with “windows” that allow an earlier phase, in this case a very acute scalenohedral crystal covered by a very shiny iridescent microcrystalline Chalcopyrite layer, to show through. An interesting novelty.

SV460EFG: Spheroidal aggregates of very shiny Chalcopyrite crystals on a matrix formed by a growth of Calcite crystals in two phases: the first as darker scalenohedral crystals, and the second in the form of coatings of small clearer crystals. On the back, crystals of Chalcopyrite cover practically the entire piece. Comes from a mine which exploits a deposit rich in copper and molybdenum.

They are very well defined and bright with a dark brown color and implanted on very fine Inesite crystals that are between translucent and transparent, bright and with an intense pink color. The Chinese Hubeites that even during their best times were scarce are currently very difficult to find.
