Kermesite

This find represents the best samples ever found of this species. The size, perfect form as well as the cherry red color (when back lit) make them, in our opinion, one of the most significant finds of the last few years. We have selected solid specimens from our stock, so that shipping will not be a problem.

Please note that all this photos was taken with a strong light source at the rear of the specimen, in order to show its deep red color, under normal lighting this is not so visible.

BF96K1: Centered group of Kermesite crystals, red and flattened, that forms a fan on a group of prismatic crystals of Stibnite. The specimens of Kermesite from Yizhang, considered among the best known, are very scarce.

Kermesite with Gypsum
 

BG89W8: Divergent growth, more compact than usual, of elongated and flattened crystals almost feathery at their terminations, and with vivid and intense reddish reflections. In some limited areas the Kermesite is partially coated by small masses of Gypsum. Actually it is very difficult to obtain these quality Kermesite specimens.

BB42: One of the few pieces with matrix. The matrix is a mix of massive and crystallized Stibnite. The Kermesite is standing free on its small matrix and shows very well its morphology and its transparency (with intense light from the back) due its aerial position. A minor Stibnite crystal is crosses the left corner of the specimen.

BF50J1: Divergent groups of extraordinarily defined crystals. It has an excellent color and comes from the famous find in 2002 and even then they were scarce, and it is very difficult to obtain good samples. The specimen has high quality and it is a perfect representation of the species.

BB57L5: Fan-shaped group of very thin prismatic Kermesite crystals whose terminations become near plumose. With very intense reddish reflections. Actually it is very difficult to obtain these quality Kermesite specimens.

BK99K1: Fan-shaped group of red and flattened crystals of Kermesite that has a considerable length. They are partially covered by Valentinite crystals. The specimens of Kermesite from Yizhang, considered among the best known, are very scarce. The Valentinite has been analyzed and we will send a copy of the analysis to the buyer of the specimen.

Cinnabar (twinned) with Quartz and Dolomite
 

ZA73G7: An excellent group of twinned crystals of Cinnabar, the biggest one reaching a considerable size. They are on a very rich matrix of Quartz crystals. The red color is better than usual on the specimens with this kind of twin. The main crystal, in its upper right faces, is partially covered by little white Quartz crystals. Matrix has been cut on the back, as is usual with Chinese Cinnabar, due to the fragility of the Cinnabar crystals.

EFB74AO1: Acute rhombohedral Cinnabar crystals, twinned, doubly terminated, of a very considerable size, very aerial and on a matrix with white rhombohedral Dolomite crystals and small water-clear Quartz crystals. Great quality.

TR90AF9: Thick tabular and very sharp Cinnabar crystals with very well defined faces and edges, bright and on matrix, with Calcite crystals.

TD47Z2: Parallel Chalcopyrite growths coating two large Tetrahedrite crystals. The Chalcopyrite crystals along the Tetrahedrite edges are clearly more developed. This Chalcopyrite-Tetrahedrite association is very scarce at the locality, better known for very good Chalcopyrite with Siderite.

MV14AG9: Large tetrahedral Tetrahedrite crystal with irregular surfaces and almost completely coated with bright and very well defined Chalcopyrite crystals, and some white Siderite crystals.
The sample is from the Carles Manresa collection (num. 1091), who’s label and collection card we’ll send to the buyer.

TPQ99AN6: Druse of short disphenoidal crystals of Chalcopyrite, with a pseudo-tetrahedral appearance, twinned, with very sharp crystal forms, extraordinarily brilliant luster, and partially covered by white globular growths of Calcite.
No damage, which is extremely unusual for this deposit due to extraction conditions there.

EM99W2: Short disphenoidal crystals of Chalcopyrite, with a false appearance of the tetrahedron, with very well defined faces and edges and very bright. They have a considerable size and have grown paragenetically with a group of dark brown lenticular crystals of Siderite, translucent and bright. They have some minor damage on some edges, the least that we have been able to obtain because these samples usually are badly broken.

TV73AC4: Disphenoidal Chalcopyrite crystals with a false appearance of the tetrahedron, of a considerable length, sharp and with very well defined faces and edges, magnificent color and very bright. The Chalcopyrite has grown paragenetically with a group of translucent, bright and dark brown lenticular Siderite crystals.

EP90W2: Short diesphenoidal crystals of Chalcopyrite, with a false appearance of tetrahedron, with very well defined faces and edges and very bright. They are on a matrix of dark brown lenticular crystals of Siderite translucent and bright. They have some minor damages on some edges, the really minimal that we have achieved to obtain due to these samples usually are clearly broken.

MX54AI0: Complex growths of disphenoidal Chalcopyrite crystals that have the false appearance of a tetrahedron, with very well defined faces and edges and extraordinarily bright. The Chalcopyrite has grown paragenetically with a group of lenticular Siderite crystals that are translucent, bright and have a dark brown color. The sample is undamaged, something unusual because most of the samples from this mine are usually more or less broken.

EAC27CD1: From a mine mainly famous for the quality of its siderites and chalcopyrites, but which also yields very good tennantites-tetrahedrites. Unfortunately it has the bad reputation that its specimens are very often more or less damaged. On the other hand, this specimen is totally perfect.

MBT98AO0: Druse of very sharp Fluorite crystals, transparent, lustrous and with a very marked color zoning, with a pale lilac color through almost the entire crystal and a very deep violet tone along the edges. With small parallel aggregates of lamellar yellow Baryte crystals and white Dolomite crystals.

EXR71XXX: The finding of carlhintzeites in Dachang, produced at the beginning of 2025, constitutes an unexpected mineralogical event in a district traditionally known for its stibnite mineralization. Until then, Carlhintzeite had only been documented in the form of very small crystal aggregates or poorly differentiated masses, without defined macroscopic specimens. The appearance of crystals of good size therefore represents a relevant advance in the knowledge of this very rare species.
In this particularly attractive specimen, the intensely yellow Carlhintzeite forms very visible and well-individualized globular aggregates, on which acicular and fan-shaped crystals of nearly colorless Creedite are arranged, as well as very small crystals of Gearksutite. This association is consistent with the presence of late hydrothermal fluids enriched in fluorine and sulfates, typical of the post-stibnite stages of the district. The coexistence of both species suggests a final hydrothermal pulse particularly rich in volatiles, capable of generating cavities where uncommon minerals developed.

In this specimen, the Carlhintzeite, of intense yellow color, is very rich in translucent crystals and occurs on limonite’s matrix. It has been published on the website of the prestigious journal Mineralogical Record, in its “What’s New” section by Tom Moore: Tom’s Online Report #75 – 12/09/2025

EMG50XXX: Together with the spectacular carlhintzeites discovered in the important Dachang find of March 2025, we have been able to confirm, thanks to the detailed analysis of the samples, the presence of Gearksutite. In the case of this particular piece the Gearksutite, white in color, appears associated with yellow Creedite crystals.
Gearksutite is a rare species, without reference specimens considered “spectacular” in classical mineralogy. For this reason, the presence of well-formed, intensely yellow Creedite not only enhances the aesthetic appearance of the specimen, but also provides a mineralogical framework to better appreciate this very little-known species.

Geologically, the area consists of thick Paleozoic limestone and dolomite sequences affected by strong faulting and fracturing, which provided pathways for hydrothermal fluids rich in sulfides, antimony, and volatile elements. These processes produced mineralized pockets and fissures where Carlhintzeite developed together with other uncommon species such as Gearksutite.

Carnotite with Creedite

EAA89XXX: The discovery of Carnotite in Dachang, which occurred at the beginning of 2025, constitutes an unexpected mineralogical event in a district traditionally known for its stibnite mineralizations, as well as an absolute novelty, since until now there had been no record of its presence. Its appearance therefore represents a relevant advance in the knowledge of this rare species.
In this specimen, Carnotite completely coats unidentified crystals, showing a uniform yellow colour that is very characteristic of uranium minerals. It is accompanied by small and delicate crystals of Creedite, very bright and translucent, located in the upper part of the specimen.
It has been published at the magazine ‘Paragénesis’ number 02/2025, page 133.

Geologically, the area consists of thick Paleozoic limestone and dolomite sequences affected by strong faulting and fracturing, which provided pathways for hydrothermal fluids rich in sulfides, antimony, and volatile elements. These processes produced mineralized pockets and fissures where Carlhintzeite developed together with other little-common species such as Fluellite, Gearksutite or this Carnotite, for example.

EXV67XXX: The finding of Fluellite in Dachang, produced at the beginning of 2025, constitutes an unexpected mineralogical event in a district traditionally known for its stibnite mineralizations, as well as an absolute novelty, since until now its presence had not been recorded. Its appearance therefore represents a relevant advance in the knowledge of this rare species.
In this specimen the Fluellite appears crystallized, something uncommon in this species. It shows a delicate uniform lemon-yellow color and is on a matrix formed by white and translucent Quartz crystals. It is a specimen of great quality for the species, both for its color and for the considerable size of its crystal groups.
The specimen has been published in the magazine ‘Paragénesis’, number 02/2025, page 133.

Geologically, the area consists of thick Paleozoic limestone and dolomite sequences affected by strong faulting and fracturing, which provided pathways for hydrothermal fluids rich in sulfides, antimony, and volatile elements. GHT91AO1: Stalactitic and globular growths of Fluorite, very aerial and aesthetic, translucent and with a very deep blue color. Some of the growths were interrupted, probably due to contact with the rock walls of the vein, as evidenced by the relicts of Quartz that emerge from the Fluorite, which they most likely served as guides during their growth.
The specimen comes from the collection of Casado Margolles, (number FRM-259) whose catalogue entry we will send to the buyer.
