TZ97L5: Nice specimen from the type locality of this rare calcium copper borate. Henmilite shows well defined faces and edges with a deep blue color that contrasts with the white Olshanskyite matrix. Actually the access to the Fuka mine is strictly prohibited and controlled.
The specimen is accompanied by the label from the collection of the first specimen’s discoverer, with the handwritten notation of the date on which this specimen was extracted (February 2004). We will send the label to the buyer with this fine Henmilite.
The specimen's photo has been reviewed and published in the magazine ‘Rocks & Minerals’ on page 57 in the volume 91, number 1, Jan/Feb 2016

TRL56AO0: Globular growths of Rhodochrosite, on matrix, with a silky luster and an intense reddish pink color. It is associated with black Sphalerite in lamellar crystals.
The specimen comes from a classic Japanese deposit that, like many others in that country, was scarcely disclosed until its rhodochrosites became famous when they reached the international market.

VB37Z4: Translucent dipyramidal deep brown Scheelite crystal. It is bright, has polycrystalline growths and is on a white Calcite matrix with small Quartz crystals. Before the Chinese samples appeared, these Korean pieces were the "top" for the species.

GV46P9: An esthetic miniature from a locality already historic. Its crystals have the dark tones typical of Korean samples, they have very well defined faces and edges and are very bright, with small coatings of white rhombohedral crystals of Calcite.

A curiosity, since the specimen comes from an abandoned locality that has now been converted into an amusement park.

EM17K1: Very acute dipyramidal crystals, two of them dominant, with excellent luster and a considerable transparency. They are brown, an unusual color for the species, and are on a matrix of small crystals of Albite.

TP26F0: Exsolution? Interrupted growth? There is some doubt about how this beautiful, floater Quartz formed. It has irregular crystalline forms with some flat faces, especially the rhombohedra near the tips. Very unusual.

TV46J3: A group of prismatic, naturally broken and rehealed, crystals. They have abundant curvatures and crystalline fibrous shaped sutures. Crystals are doubly terminated, with very different terminations. On one of the tips appear well defined and bright rhombohedron faces, on the other it finishes with a flat rough pedion. The quarry from which the sample came is not well known and, probably it has been recently opened.

TM68D8: We waited a while before offering Afghanites on our web site. Ones we have seen before were either two expensive, not very esthetic, or a pale color. Finally we were able to locate the examples we were looking for: very esthetic, aerial crystals, intensely colored, perfect, and not too highly priced. A definitive sample, with a large main crystal standing well out from the matrix and accompanied by another small crystal. It all stands out well from the white Calcite matrix.

TVR30XXX: Afghanite on a Calcite matrix with Muscovite and Pyrite, with a main crystal that stands out for its good size, intense blue color, and for being very aerial on the matrix. The well-individualized crystal, strongly contrasting with the light-colored Calcite, gives the specimen a higher quality than is usual for this species.

Sar-e-Sang is known for its lapis lazuli mineralization, developed in metamorphosed carbonate rocks, mainly marbles, related to contact metamorphic processes. Afghanite occurs associated with these mineralizations, together with Calcite and other minerals such as Lazurite, Diopside, Phlogopite, and Pyrite, formed as a result of the interaction between the carbonate rocks and fluids rich in different elements.

TR90E4: Two parallel crystal of Spodumene, which are floaters, doubly terminated, have good transparency, are of an unusual greenish yellow color, and have a particular feature: they are associated with and partially covered by small crystals of Fluorapatite, which has good color itself. The upper tips of the Spodumenes are very well defined.

MB92W5: Isolated crystal of Spodumene (Kunzite variety), on Albite matrix. The faces and edges of the prism are very well defined and the termination of the crystal is typically polycrystalline and rough. The Kunzite is very bright and shows an especially dense and uniform color. We note that samples of Spodumene on matrix are quite unusual.

ED68F4: Attractive group of numerous, very brilliant crystals that have sharply defined faces on their terminations. These are supported by a matrix of Muscovite and Limonite concretions. It is a floater specimen.

TP56Z7: Aggregate of crystals with well-defined faces and edges, and their pinacoidal termination is well developed. They are between translucent and transparent, and have a very vivid, intense and uniform color.

Jagdalek is a mineralized zone hosted in hydrothermal veins and shear zones within metamorphic rocks, related to beryllium-bearing fluids linked to regional pegmatitic and intrusive activity. In addition to emeralds, the deposit is also known for Corundum (variety ruby) associated with metamorphic and metasomatic processes in aluminum-rich levels. Structurally controlled mineralization with well-formed crystals in fractures and cavities.

EH49W7: Sharp thick tabular spinel-twinned crystal. It is uniformly translucent, with an intense and uniform red color and it is on a Calcite matrix.

EQ87R3: Translucent, bright single crystal with sharp, well-defined faces and of considerable size, showing a prismatic habit with marked longitudinal striations. The luster is vitreous to silky.
This species, belonging to the inosilicate subclass, is rare, especially in crystals of this size and quality.

The Koksha Valley is a mountainous region historically known for its gemstone deposits. This valley forms part of the classical Sar-e-Sang area, one of the most renowned localities in the world for its lazurites (lapis lazuli), exploited since antiquity.

From a geological point of view, the area corresponds to high-grade metamorphic units, with marbles and gneisses in which mineralizations associated with metasomatic and metamorphic processes develop. The paragenesis is characteristic, with the presence of lapis lazuli (a rock composed predominantly of Lazurite), together with Pyrite, Calcite, and other associated silicates, in a context that has given rise to some of the most historically well-known gem materials.

TH97E1: This is an excellent Hackmanite (a variety of Sodalite) with large crystal size, well defined, and magnificent color. It is also well positioned on the Matrix of Winchite, which gives great contrast. As is usual the fluorescence is great. It is a floater.

MJ56AF2: A novelty at Tucson 2017. Doubly terminated and complete Phenakite crystal with a small feldspar (probably Albite) matrix. The crystal has the finely striated faces of a main prism, the smooth surfaces of a secondary prism, and the rough terminal rhombohedron. An excellent thumbnail of a species that is very uncommon at Afghanistan.
