TMT42XXX: Very airy group of Galena crystals, dominated by a well-developed main crystal and accompanied by other well-defined crystals. The group is set on a Sphalerite matrix. It is especially notable for its intense metallic luster, which is very bright and uniform on all crystal faces. The specimen is in perfect condition.
It comes from the Olkusz Mine, one of the principal operations of the historic Olkusz mining district in southern Poland, renowned for its lead and zinc minerals.

Geologically, the deposit belongs to the Silesia–Cracow metallogenic province. The Zn-Pb mineralization formed by hydrothermal replacement processes in Triassic dolostones and limestones, producing Mississippi Valley-Type (MVT) ore deposits.
