RTM87XXX: Pair of pseudocubic crystals of Perovskite, well defined and lustrous, with a uniform brown color, implanted and embedded in a highly foliated schist matrix, with a clear predominance of chloritoids.
The specimen comes from the Folch collection (duplicates), with the particularity that it was collected by Mr. Folch himself on September 9, 1950, at an altitude of 3,200 meters.

The Rimpfischwäng Range corresponds to the surroundings of the Findel Glacier, on the western side of the Monte Rosa Massif. Geologically, it belongs to the high-grade metamorphic units of the Penninic Zone, composed mainly of gneisses, schists, and amphibolites affected by Alpine tectono-metamorphic processes. Alpine-type veins with minerals such as Quartz, Epidote, Anatase, Rutile, Chlorite, Perovskita… are common, formed during late hydrothermal phases associated with the Alpine uplift.
