NTT14XXX: New find at the 2024 Sants-Barcelona Show.
Group of Andalusite crystals, one of them clearly dominant, with very well-defined faces and edges and on matrix.
The Andalusites from this area occur in contact-metamorphic schists, formed by the thermal effect of granitic intrusions on pelitic rocks of the Ransol Valley. The crystals are usually well developed, sometimes showing the typical cross-shaped twinning (“St. Andrew’s cross”)
