From an old mine in Garlitos, Badajoz, this phosphate can be considered of the best known quality for the species in the Iberian Peninsula.
Las Minillas is an area within the Variscan basement of NE Badajoz, dominated by metamorphic rocks and granitoids (including the Garlitos Granodiorite). Pb mineralization is linked to fractures and small hydrothermal veins, later overprinted by a well-developed supergene oxidation zone, where secondary phosphates such as Plumbogummite may form.
