NFN72XXX: Group of extraordinarily transparent, brilliant and well-defined Nifontovite crystals, with elongated prismatic habit and well-developed terminations. Particularly remarkable is the optical purity of the crystals, uncommon for the species, as well as the elegant parallel arrangement of the growth and their good state of preservation.
These Nifontovites, found between 2025 and 2026, represent, because of their transparency, a clear improvement in quality compared to specimens previously recovered from the same locality.
Nifontovite is a rare hydrated borate formed in boron-rich environments associated with highly specialized parageneses.

Rey y Reina is a mine from the Charcas mining district, famous for its complex mineral associations and especially well known among collectors for its rare borates. The mineralization developed in a polymetallic hydrothermal setting hosted in carbonate rocks, where boron-rich metasomatic processes gave rise to an exceptional paragenesis of uncommon minerals.
Rey y Reina Mine, Charcas, Charcas Municipality, San Luis Potosí  Mexico (2025)
