MA99V7: A specimen of very high quality, formed by a group of sharp crystals, really large for the species, with well-defined faces and edges, undamaged, lustrous and with perfect terminations, on a matrix of green crystalline aggregates of Prehnite.
Worthy of the finest museums or private collections.

The Babingtonite occurrences from Qiaojia have become a modern reference for the Babingtonite because of the quality and size of their crystals, exceptionally well developed for the species. The specimens are generally associated with pale green Prehnite in cavities developed in basaltic volcanic rocks affected by low-temperature hydrothermal processes. The circulation of calcium-, iron- and silica-rich fluids favoured the crystallization of Babingtonite with very well-defined faces and edges, often forming highly aesthetic groups of excellent quality. These mineral associations are representative of late hydrothermal parageneses developed in fractures and vesicles of volcanic rocks.
