Group of bipyramidal Sulphur crystals, with an intense yellow color and good luster, perched on a matrix of creamy brown lamellar Baryte aggregates, associated with Calcite crystals. Although this type of association is a classic from the Machów Mine, this specimen stands out for the attractive color combination of the intense yellow Sulphur, the creamy brown Baryte, and the white Calcite, as well as for its excellent state of preservation, with no damage.
Geologically, the Machów Mine was one of Europe's largest sulphur operations, developed as a large open-pit mine within the Tarnobrzeg Basin. The deposit is hosted by Miocene sediments and originated through bacterial sulfate reduction processes, which gave rise to major accumulations of sulphur associated with gypsum, anhydrite, and limestones. The locality is especially well known among collectors for its Sulphur crystals, as well as for the associations of Baryte, Celestine, and Calcite.
