Doubly terminated Serandite crystal, with a flat termination by the pinacoid at the base and polycrystalline terminations at the end of the prism, of a very intense red color and with inclusions of Aegirine, two of them very marked and with well-defined crystals, and impregnations at the base of cream-colored crystals of Polylithionite, a curious phyllosilicate of potassium, lithium and aluminum.
Mont Saint-Hilaire is an alkaline intrusion belonging to the Monteregian Hills Igneous Belt, world-famous for its exceptional mineralogy with more than 430 recorded species, many of them type-locality. The rocks consist of nepheline syenites and carbonatites with miarolitic cavities hosting rare minerals.
