TXY42XXX: Seeligerite with Schwartzembergite, Cerussite, Anhydrite and Gypsum
Group of Seeligerite crystals, the most prominent ones showing an intense yellow color, associated with Schwartzembergite, Cerussite, Anhydrite and Gypsum, forming an uncommon paragenesis typical of the oxidation zone of the deposit. The specimen has been analyzed to confirm the presence of the different mineral species and retains several historic provenance labels, including those of J. R. Knight, Harry Critchley, and the prestigious company Excalibur Minerals, adding documentary interest to the specimen. Geologically, Seeligerite is a rare secondary lead oxyhalide that forms in the oxidation zone of lead deposits through the alteration of primary minerals in the presence of chlorine-rich solutions. Its association with Schwartzembergite, Cerussite, Anhydrite and Gypsum is characteristic of highly evolved supergene environments.
