Group of small Quartz crystals completely covering an echinoid fossil, replacing it while preserving its original shape. As is usual with specimens from the Jaume Curto collection, it was well selected and is a good representation of the locality.
The specimen comes from the Cretaceous marine carbonate rocks of the Monte Grau / Tubilla del Agua area, where diagenetic processes of silicification and replacement of fossil remains gave rise to these characteristic pseudomorphs, with cavities lined with Quartz crystals.
