Floater crystal consisting of a complete tabular cyclic twin, very bright and with a considerable size for the species.
An excellent Canadian classic from the Pierre Léo Montreueil collection.
Chibougamau is a copper-gold deposit located in the eastern part of the Abitibi greenstone belt, within the Chibougamau mining district in the Superior Craton (Archean). The mineralization is associated with mafic to intermediate volcanic sequences intruded by felsic plutons, with veins and replacement zones rich in sulfides (mainly chalcopyrite and pyrite) and silica-carbonate hydrothermal alteration. The Chibougamau camp is known for its long mining history and for producing fine collector specimens, especially Cubanite, associated with Calcite, Quartz, Epidote, Chlorite, and other secondary copper minerals.
