Good sample for this rare chromian variety of Clinochlore. The crystals have an excellent, very deep, color. They have very well defined faces and edges, without exfoliations and on matrix.

A classic of Turkish mineralogy. Kop Krom Mine is located in the Kop Dağları Mountains, in the vicinity of the town of Aşkale. The deposit corresponds to a chromium mineralization associated with ophiolitic complexes and ultramafic bodies (mainly peridotites and serpentinites), where Chromite occurs as lenses and massive, disseminated, or banded bodies. The mineralization is related to magmatic and tectonic processes linked to the evolution of the Alpine–Anatolian belt, typical of ophiolitic environments.
