The specimen comes from a well-known but little-disclosed locality in the Canary Islands in which no finds of this type had been made previously.

A common species like Calcite is not usually world class, but in this case we observe a group of crystals from the August 2004 discovery in Madagascar, formed by an attractive aggregate, in which the sharpness of the crystals, their color and luster, and especially the appearance of extraordinarily unusual twins, formed by the interpenetration of two rhombohedra, are outstanding.

Aggregate of lenticular Calcite crystals, the largest with the prism faces more developed. The crystals are translucent, their color is between yellow and orange and they have a gray color zoning. As in so many specimens in this collection, the sample is of great quality for the locality.

An interesting novelty of Tucson 2008. A nice twin of two short Calcite crystals. Prism faces are totally clear and transparent. Pinacoidal terminations are translucent. To increase its beauty the specimen has a small matrix. Excellent miniature.
