Coralloidal growth of Calcite, very aerial and aesthetic, lustrous, and snow-white. The specimen is from a locality little known to collectors and comes to us via the collection of Miguel David Martínez (nº 181) whose label we will send to the buyer.

TC240NG: Calcita (variety Cobalt-bearing)

Botryoidal aggregates with areas of different colors, ranging from white to pink and deep mauve, with more crystalline, translucent and lustrous areas. At one time, it was said that the greenish yellow areas corresponded to nickel-bearing calcites, but later studies did not confirm the presence of nickel.

NG46F7: Calcita with Fluorite and Quartz

Calcite is not so common in this Quarry. In this case we have a quite large, rounded crystal of Calcite on the typical matrix of Fluorite and Quartz, although in this case the Fluorite is colorless. Curiously the Calcite is intensely yellow-orange near the rear, almost certainly due to the presence of oxides that were in the iron rich fluids from which it formed.

Complex Calcite crystal, rounded, with the dominant form of a scalenohedron and a flattened rhombohedron, transparent, bright, with a yellowish color and on a rocky matrix with Dolomite and many little Calcite crystals.

Group of Calcite crystals, with dominant scalenohedron forms, with very well defined parallel growths, between translucent and transparent, with good luster and a uniform pale lilac color. From a unique find in Aït Ahmane where this type of Calcite was not known before and has not been seen since.

DC10AH7: Calcite

Group of scalenohedral Calcite crystals with very well defined faces and edges, with slight curvatures and most of them doubly terminated. They are translucent, have a honey color and fine recrystallization on most on their faces.
The Daunis collection was, in the 70’s and the 80’s, a reference for local prospectors of the Barcelona area. The sample is with the original manuscript label that we’ll send to the buyer.

MTF58XXX: Calcite

Aggregate of Calcite crystals partially covering the matrix, forming an open growth with good development of faces and edges. The crystals, in white to slightly translucent tones, show well-defined flat surfaces and a vitreous luster. A very representative specimen of crystallizations from the Mont-rodon area. From a known Calcite outcrop in the Mont-rodon area, within the municipality of Taradell. Geologically it belongs to the eastern sector of the Plana de Vic, where sedimentary rocks predominate, especially marls and other deposits related to ancient Eocene marine environments. Calcite has been reported from Serrat de Mont-rodon, locally as well-developed lenticular crystals.
