The color and transparency are both very good, as is the position of the doubly terminated crystals on the matrix. Nowadays it is extremely hard to get hold of this material as they came from the construction of the Simplon tunnel. Fan-shaped group of flattened prismatic Anhydrite crystals with fibrous parallel growths, good terminations, a satin luster and an excellent uniform azure-blue color. The locality is world famous for hosting vugs with some of the largest gypsum crystals ever found, of unmatched quality, size and transparency. This specimen comes from the Rock Currier collection (no. 5206), whose label we will send to the buyer.
