Millimetric Mimetite crystals, well defined, translucent, of a greenish yellow color and formed by an elongated prism and an acute dipyramid. The Mimetite completely covers the cubic Galena crystals that are implanted on a matrix of white lenticular Baryte crystals.
The Mimetite was already a known species in the mine, but not with this presentation, so well defined, and completely covering the Galena. The Mimetite has been analyzed.
The Atrevida Mine is a vein-type exploitation hosted in Paleozoic materials of the southern sector of the Catalan Coastal Range. The mineralization is associated with low- to medium-temperature hydrothermal processes, with the presence of copper, lead and zinc sulfides, and the development of secondary species in the oxidation zone, with Mimetite standing out among them.
