SV3290EJJ: Epidote with Quartz


The prolific zone of Morocco known as 'Imilchil' continues to produce tirelessly. In the Jebel Masker subzone, in January 2023, a pocket with beautiful Epidote crystals appeared, not very large but brilliantly lustrous, luminous, grouped in sheaves, and accompanied by Quartz crystals.

EBR70AP1: Epidote with Quartz
New from Sainte Marie 2022. Curious crests and palmate groups of Epidote crystals with Quartz. We were not aware that this type of Epidote had been found before in Imilchil, which due to their fan-shaped appearance, they somewhat resemble Prehnite formations.

MLM26AP7: Epidote with Quartz
Fan-shaped growths of prismatic Epidote crystals with very sharp and profiled crystal forms and with excellent terminations. They are translucent, with good luster and an intense, deep and uniform green color, on a matrix of water-clear Quartz crystals, one of them dominant. The specimen comes from the Miguel David Martínez collection (number 2394), whose label we will send to the buyer.

MAE87AO3: Epidote with Quartz
Large Epidote crystals on matrix and with Quartz. With very sharp crystal forms, many of them doubly terminated and with deep green tones with lighter internal reflections. An excellent American classic.

NRX47AO0: Epidote with Quartz
Fan-shaped growths of Epidote crystals with a prismatic habit with very well defined and sharp crystal forms, translucent, with good luster and an intense, deep and uniform green color. On a matrix of water-clear Quartz crystals, one of them with a contact that gives it a different termination from the other central crystal. The specimen comes from the Miguel David Martínez collection (number 479), whose label we will send to the buyer.

A Prince of Wales classic. The long crystals of Epidote, apart from the perfect development of the faces, have a good degree of translucence and contrast with the numerous crystals of Quartz. Folch bought this from Al McGuinness in 1972 at Tucson.

Very sharp doubly terminated, twinned, Epidote crystal on a matrix of Quartz crystals. The sample is a fine miniature from a classic locality.

MT48AA8: Epidote with Quartz
Parallel aggregate of elongated Epidote crystals, one of them clearly dominant. They are translucent, with a very deep color and perfect termination. The sample is from a very recent find at the locality, a great classic for the species.
This sample has been photographed and published as a novelty at the 2014 Munich Show in the magazine ‘Le Règne Minéral’ number 120, page 51

Fanlike aggregates of crystals with very elongated prismatic shape, clearer and very bright pyramidal terminations, and with Quartz crystals. Both the crystal morphology and the type of aggregate are different than usual for samples from Prince of Wales Island.

NK63N3: Epidote with Quartz and Andradite
The Aguablanca nickel deposit is not really being generous in providing specimens for collectors, despite the high expectation aroused among collectors when it started. But in September 2006 the operations went through an area where good specimens of Epidote associated with Garnet, Pyrite, Quartz and Calcite appeared. This sample is a good representation of this find.

Group of dark green (almost black), doubly terminated, very aerial Epidote crystals that are partially coated by small white crystals, most of them doubly terminated, of Stilbite-Ca.

Druse formed of Epidote crystals arranged in bundles and partially covering water-clear Quartz crystals with an attractive color contrast, on ophitic rock matrix. The size of the Quartz crystals is notable, larger than those usually seen from this deposit.
