Sharp crystals with very well-defined faces and edges, one of them clearly dominant, with an excellent termination that shows the pinacoid and pyramidal faces. The emerald crystals are on a rocky matrix with small laminar Albite crystals and are transparent, very bright, and have an intense, deep, and uniform color.
The specimen comes from a classic Colombian hydrothermal deposit formed in black shales and carbonate veins rich in organic material, where beryllium-bearing fluids interacted with chromium from the surrounding rocks, giving rise to the intense green color of the emeralds.
