Fan-shaped growths of Epidote crystals with a prismatic habit and sharp crystal forms, translucent, with bright luster and an intense, deep and uniform green color, on a matrix of transparent Quartz crystals.
Mount Zard lies within the Ras Koh Mountains, on the western margin of the Pakistani plateau, where metamorphic and plutonic Paleozoic–Mesozoic rocks are exposed, including granitic intrusions and contact–metasomatic zones.
Fissures, small veins, and metasomatic alteration host calc–silicate assemblages, typical of low to medium grade metamorphic environments.
