9EF89L9: Acanthite, Pyrite, Calcite
A novelty from the Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines Mineral Show 2008. Uniaxial and parallel growth of octahedral Acanthite pseudomorphous after Argentite crystals. With very well defined faces and edges, these specimens have an exceptional luster, much better than other Acanthite specimens from Imiter we have seen before. On the back side of the sample one can see small Pyrite and Calcite crystals. Imiter mine is an epithermal deposit of Neoproterozoic Ag-Hg included in black pelites.
