Fragment of brecciated carbonate rock, partially mineralized in a fissure lined with a multitude of small, lustrous Smithsonite crystals with ocher tones, and with a later generation of Hemimorphite crystals, of good size, translucent, with very good luster and perfectly defined faces and edges.
It comes from the old collection of Robert-Auguste Touchon and, curiously, once had attached a handwritten label that covered the crystals of Hemimorphite, impeding them from being observed. That now detached label will be sent to the buyer. Note that the locality of origin, Vieille Montagne in Kelmis, Belgium, was an important zinc producing district, where this type of specimen was known as calamines, and which is the type locality (TL) for several zinc minerals.
