Cubo-octahedral Galena crystals in tabular growths, pseudomorphous after Pyrrhotite, with Sphalerite. Although they were previously known in the area the specimen is from a very recent find.

MG30AI6: Galena after Pyrrhotite with Pyrite and Sphalerite
A sample that reclaims a special attention, both for its spectacular appearance and for its complexity, because the Galena has the pseudomorph shape of parallel growths of old tabular Pyrrhotite crystals coated by Pyrite further recrystallized in small cubic and cubo-octahedral crystals, and with some twinned Sphalerite crystals. Being that the Pyrrhotite is after Galena and not Pyrite (which is the the most typical) the chemical stability of the sample seems assured.

Group of cubo-octahedral crystals of Galena showing smooth and bright cube faces that contrast with those of the octahedron, which have a rougher surface. They are with small crystals of Quartz and on matrix, with Sphalerite.

MF47E7: Galena on Pyrite
From a locality that used to be very productive (although it is no longer so) this one stands out from all the others found there for various reasons: the form of the crystal (slightly oblong and with small octahedral modification on the corners), all the faces are undamaged, the brilliance of the faces, and, above all, its great position on the matrix of botryoidal Pyrite. So while many Galenas have been found in the Tri-State district this one is special.

Galena crystals with very sharp crystal forms and very lustrous, on matrix, with lenticular crystals of Siderite. Neudorf galenas mined between the mid-1800s and early 1900s have become a rarity and reference classics. The specimen comes from the collection of Robert-Auguste Touchon.

TMT42XXX: Galena on Sphalerite
Very airy group of Galena crystals, dominated by a well-developed main crystal and accompanied by other well-defined crystals. The group is set on a Sphalerite matrix. It is especially notable for its intense metallic luster, which is very bright and uniform on all crystal faces. The specimen is in perfect condition. It comes from the Olkusz Mine, one of the principal operations of the historic Olkusz mining district in southern Poland, renowned for its lead and zinc minerals. Geologically, the deposit belongs to the Silesia–Cracow metallogenic province. The Zn-Pb mineralization formed by hydrothermal replacement processes in Triassic dolostones and limestones, producing Mississippi Valley-Type (MVT) ore deposits.

A novelty at the 2020 Munich Virtual show. Cubo-octahedral crystals of Galena with very distinct polycrystalline growths, good luster, on a matrix covered by rhombohedral Dolomite crystals with a pale pink color, and small white Calcite crystals. This material was practically unknown until now.

Group of very lustrous Galena crystals with a cubic morphology, rough on the cube faces, and on a matrix of dolomitic rock accompanied by crystals of Calcite, one of them doubly terminated and dominant, as well as several slightly pink Dolomite crystals. Comes from an important Italian mine that was exploited for lead, zinc and barium.
