TL50E2: Elbaite (variety rubellite) with Calcite and Quartz
In my opinion this is the best small sample from the find. The sphere is large and has lots of color and brilliance. It is also well placed on the matrix of Calcite with some Quartz at the base. To add to that there is a small black Schorl crystal.
A great one: this specimen was photographed for the ‘what’s new at St Marie 2004’ section of the magazine ‘Minéraux et Fossiles’ and appears on page 35 of number 331. We will send the purchaser a copy of the magazine.

EY16AG4: Elbaite (variety rubellite) with Feldspar
A lovely group of very aerial crystals, many of them partially or completely doubly terminated, translucent and bright with a pale pink color and intense red terminations and on a feldspar matrix.
Pyingyi Taung, Male, Letpanhla, Singu Township, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region (Mandalay Division)  Myanmar (Burma)
Specimen size: 7.8 × 6.6 × 5.4 cm = 3.07” × 2.60” × 2.13”
.
EB1K6: Elbaite (variety rubellite) with Feldspar
Translucent crystal of excellent color, very uniform, and perfectly terminated with the pedion and the three faces of the rhombohedron. It is implanted on Feldspar matrix, which is not very usual for the locality.
Himalaya Mine, Gem Hill, Mesa Grande District, San Diego County, California  USA
Specimen size: 4.4 × 2.8 × 2.5 cm = 1.73” × 1.10” × 0.98”

Main crystal size: 4.4 × 2.7 cm = 1.73” × 1.06”
.
TA77H3: Elbaite (variety rubellite) with Mica
A curious and interesting sample not easy to define. A close study reveals a multiple prismatic growth forming a scepter. Color is very deep and luster is very good.
Coronel Murta, Vale do Jequitinhonha, Minas Gerais  Brazil (2006)
Specimen size: 4.1 × 3.6 × 2.5 cm = 1.61” × 1.42” × 0.98”
.
EH89AI5: Elbaite (variety rubellite) with Mica and Feldspar
Elbaite (rubellite variety) with simple and very well defined faces and edges and a very smooth pinacoidal termination. It is translucent, bright, has a very intense and uniform color and it is with a tiny Feldspar matrix with leafy Mica aggregates.
Mokhovaya pegmatite, Malkhan (Malchan), Krasnyi Chikoy, Zabaykalsky Krai  Russia (±2004)
Specimen size: 7.6 × 2.4 × 2.3 cm = 2.99” × 0.94” × 0.91”
.
TA47AK3: Elbaite (variety rubellite) with Quartz
Polycrystalline aggregate of Elbaite (rubellite variety) with a curious morphology known as a "mushroom", translucent, with very deep and uniform color. In a matrix of massive Quartz and with some Quartz crystals partially covering the rubellite.
Palelni Mine, Khetchel Village, Molo Quarter, Momeik Township, Kyaukme District, Shan State  Myanmar (Burma) (2003-2004)
Specimen size: 5.6 × 3.2 × 3.1 cm = 2.20” × 1.26” × 1.22”
.
TD86E2: Elbaite (variety rubellite) with Quartz
A stronger raspberry color than the others and the matrix is Quartz, not Calcite.
Palelni Mine, Khetchel Village, Molo Quarter, Momeik Township, Kyaukme District, Shan State  Myanmar (Burma) (2003-2004)
Specimen size: 3.8 × 3.1 × 2 cm = 1.50” × 1.22” × 0.79”

TM28E2: Elbaite (variety rubellite) with Quartz
This floater has good color and brilliance, and is also very esthetic.
Palelni Mine, Khetchel Village, Molo Quarter, Momeik Township, Kyaukme District, Shan State  Myanmar (Burma) (2003-2004)
Specimen size: 3 × 2.6 × 2.6 cm = 1.18” × 1.02” × 1.02”

Main crystal size: 2.1 × 1.6 cm = 0.83” × 0.63”
.
MBB98CD2: Elbaite (variety rubellite) with Quartz and Albite
Isolated crystal of Elbaite (rubellite variety) with very defined crystal shapes and excellent terminal faces. Between transparent and translucent, it is shiny and implanted in a translucent Quartz crystal with leafy Albite crystals at the base. Its rear termination is recrystallized, similar to the other small crystal implanted in Quartz. A beauty that reminds us of how creative Nature can be.
Santa Rosa Mine, Itambacuri, Vale do Rio Doce, Minas Gerais  Brazil
Specimen size: 9.5 × 7.7 × 7.3 cm = 3.74” × 3.03” × 2.87”
.
ML76P5: Elbaite (variety rubellite) with Quartz, Albite and Feldspar
A crystal with very well defined faces and edges and an excellent flattened rhombohedron termination. It has color zoning, dark greenish on the base and neatly pink in most of the rest of the crystal. On matrix, with Quartz crystals, Albite and an indeterminate feldspar, probably Orthoclase. We note the locality, where Rubellite of this quality is not common.
Mogok Valley, Mogok Township, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region (Mandalay Division)  Myanmar (Burma) (2009)
Specimen size: 5.9 × 4.3 × 4.4 cm = 2.32” × 1.69” × 1.73”

Main crystal size: 1.6 × 1 cm = 0.63” × 0.39”
.
TB71E2: Elbaite (variety rubellite) with Schorl and Calcite
Very unusual with the Sphere of Elbaite at the top complete, brilliant, and well positioned on the Calcite matrix. The lower half of the specimen is complex: there is a thick crystal of Schorl that passes through the calcite and is terminated at its upper end. Around the Schorl is half a sphere of Elbaite, which while not complete is not broken either. Holding this all together is fibrous pink Elbaite. No one could say that this one is not original.
Palelni Mine, Khetchel Village, Molo Quarter, Momeik Township, Kyaukme District, Shan State  Myanmar (Burma) (2003-2004)
Specimen size: 6.8 × 4.3 × 3.4 cm = 2.68” × 1.69” × 1.34”
