Aggregate of Cassiterite crystals, well defined, with sharp faces and edges and good luster, forming a group on the micaceous matrix. The crystals show dark tones, but with transparent internal reflections on the growth surfaces. The specimen displays the classic aesthetics of the locality.

From a geological point of view, the area belongs to the Hercynian granitic domain of Cornwall, with granitic intrusions that generated hydrothermal vein systems rich in tin. These veins, hosted in the surrounding metamorphic and sedimentary rocks, gave rise to the formation of Cassiterite in cavities and fractures, frequently associated with micas and other minerals typical of moderate- to low-temperature pneumatolytic-hydrothermal environments.
