Very airy crystals in stalagmitic growths of Calcite, showing rhombohedral faces combined with other crystals dominated by the scalenohedron. Cream-whitish in color, on matrix, with limonite staining at the base of the crystals, which display a characteristic pearly-nacreous luster.
The Preguiça Mine is located in southern Alentejo, within a domain dominated by Paleozoic sedimentary rocks affected by fracturing and fluid circulation. Mineralization corresponds to an oxidized Pb–Zn deposit, developed along fractures and brecciated zones, where supergene processes produced a rich assemblage of vanadates, silicates and secondary oxides. Descloizite is the most characteristic species, accompanied by Willemite and Plattnerite in parageneses typical of well-developed oxidizing environments as well as associated Calcite
