Aggregate of fine tabular Azurite crystals forming rosettes of very vivid and uniform color, on small remnants of blackish rock matrix. The morphology of the crystals stands out, forming a lattice of concentric growth from the matrix, an unusual habit for Azurite specimens from Chessy-les-Mines, the type locality for this mineral species. A very fine specimen.

For its color and definition, it is a gem, and its limonitic matrix makes it unusual. From Touissit and not from Bou Bekker, as proven by the extremely sharp crystal (quite apart from the fact that I bought it in Touissit itself 😉)

"Electric blue" is the proper name that has been given to the color of the best Azurites from Milpillas. Certainly these Azurites seem to have their own light as if they emit light instead of capturing it. This small filigree represents very well that "electric" color as well as the best quality of the Milpillas Azurites.

A novelty at Tucson 2019. Very sharp Azurite crystals, one of them clearly dominant, with a morphology that is unusual until now at Milpillas. The crystals, on matrix, are extremely flattened, between translucent and transparent, extraordinarily bright and have a very deep color with vivid reflections.

Complete flattened Azurite nodule on matrix. It’s contour resembles a medallion, a shape typical of the locality, with diffuse rosette growths on its surface and a very intense and uniform color. Due to the intensity of its color and the excellent definitions of the nodule this sample is better than usual for the locality.
