A peculiar discovery from 2021 in the Austria Duvas Mine, where these rhodochrosites appeared in rosette shapes associated with Quartz and minor Sphalerite. Their striking resemblance to the rhodochrosites from Cavnic, Romania, is curious to the extent that at mineral shows, Romanian dealers seeking pieces for their home market sometimes get confused and believe that they are from their own country. In any case, they are truly pretty.

SV3440ETM: Rhodochrosite with Quartz and Sphalerite
A peculiar discovery from 2021 in the Austria Duvas Mine, where these rhodochrosites appeared in rosette shapes associated with Quartz and minor Sphalerite. EPP72ASN2: Rhodochrosite with Quartz, Sphalerite and Pyrite
Aggregates of flattened, lenticular Rhodochrosite crystals forming rosettes with well-defined crystal structures and an intense, uniform pink color. The piece rests on a matrix of Sphalerite, scattered with very bright Pyrite crystals. The specimen exhibits more complex crystal formations than typically seen from this mine.

Very sharp rhombohedral Rhodochrosite crystals that are translucent, bright, very aerial and have an intense color. They are implanted on a group of Quartz crystals on matrix, with small Tetrahedrite and Pyrite crystals.
The sample is from the Ignacio Hernández collection (num. 99) whose original label we’ll send to the buyer.

Sharp rhombohedral crystals of Rhodochrosite. They are translucent, very bright and have a great intensity and depth of color. Furthermore, they are implanted on a matrix with small Quartz and Pyrite crystals and twinned Tetrahedrite, an uncommon association. The Rhodochrosite from Sweet Home Mine has become, in just a few years, one of the great classics due to its quality and the permanent closing of the mine.
