JFD91AO1: Fluorapatite with Siderite
These columnar fluorapatites are called in Panasqueira “hydroxylapatites”, unfortunately without any foundation since all the ones I have had analyzed were all textbook fluorapatites. This does not stop them from being very showy, as this one is, and very different from the usual patterns.
Minas da Panasqueira, Aldeia de São Francisco de Assis, Covilhã, Castelo Branco, Cova da Beira, Centro Region  Portugal (±2005)
Specimen size: 4.3 × 3.3 × 2.6 cm = 1.69” × 1.30” × 1.02”
.
JFD111AO3: Fluorapatite with Siderite
Very peculiar Fluorapatite. These floater crystals, complete and well terminated throughout, have bands of lighter color that appear to be fibrous crystals included within the Fluorapatite crystals themselves.
Minas da Panasqueira, Aldeia de São Francisco de Assis, Covilhã, Castelo Branco, Cova da Beira, Centro Region  Portugal (2009)
Specimen size: 4 × 3.3 × 2.3 cm = 1.57” × 1.30” × 0.91”

Main crystal size: 2.6 × 2.3 cm = 1.02” × 0.91”
.
JFD215AP6: Fluorapatite with Siderite
So many fluorapatites in Panasqueira... sometimes charming, sometimes with important differences between them. This one, in addition to having a good color, is 'architectural', with many crystals of various sizes that grow capriciously. With small crystals of Siderite.
Minas da Panasqueira, Aldeia de São Francisco de Assis, Covilhã, Castelo Branco, Cova da Beira, Centro Region  Portugal (±1991)
Specimen size: 3.9 × 2.8 × 2.9 cm = 1.54” × 1.10” × 1.14”

WRW97CD2: Fluorapatite with Siderite and Chalcopyrite
Druse of Fluorapatite crystals of good size, with a prismatic habit, many of them totally or partially doubly terminated, translucent, shiny, and deep green. Some, especially the main crystal, have recrystallized fibrous-looking faces in white. On matrix, with lenticular Siderite crystals and well-colored shiny Chalcopyrite crystals. Like all specimens in Raúl Sanabria's collection, it was chosen with great care, always aiming to have something special that sets it apart.
Minas da Panasqueira, Aldeia de São Francisco de Assis, Covilhã, Castelo Branco, Cova da Beira, Centro Region  Portugal
Specimen size: 15.4 × 13.4 × 6.9 cm = 6.06” × 5.28” × 2.72”

XM240NR: Fluorapatite with Siderite and Chlorite
Group of Fluorapatite crystals with elongated habit, translucent, of deep green color and with a very marked concentric color zoning of much denser tones in the central axis of the crystal. This concentric growth is known in Panasqueira as olho de boi (“ox eye”). The crystals are partially covered by small brown lenticular crystals of Siderite and microcrystals of Chlorite.
Minas da Panasqueira, Aldeia de São Francisco de Assis, Covilhã, Castelo Branco, Cova da Beira, Centro Region  Portugal (2019)

Main crystal size: 2.9 × 2.3 cm = 1.14” × 0.91”
.
NE43E7: Fluorapatite with Siderite and Mica
Look out for this one: it is marvelous. The prismatic Fluorapatite crystals are large, aerial and have a great color that is somewhere between blue and green. That said please note that, as you can see in the detailed photo, there is a significant contact on one of the upper faces of crystals. This is where there used to be some Siderite (I know this as I removed it). When you display this specimen the contact is not visible, but you see it when you hold it in your hands. So the importance you give to this contact will affect your wish to have this one in your collection. For me, given the beauty and quality, the fact that there is a contact (this is not damage) due to the former Siderite is acceptable, especially given that it is very difficult to find such specimens at a reasonable price.
Minas da Panasqueira, level 3, Aldeia de São Francisco de Assis, Covilhã, Castelo Branco, Cova da Beira, Centro Region  Portugal (2001)

.
JFD175AP0: Fluorapatite with Siderite and Muscovite
Intense color change in this Fluorapatite, from a delicate green to almost blue, depending on the type of light illuminating it. Panasqueira fluorapatites are known to do this, but in this one the property is extreme. Small, but cute.
Minas da Panasqueira, Aldeia de São Francisco de Assis, Covilhã, Castelo Branco, Cova da Beira, Centro Region  Portugal (1989)
Specimen size: 2.7 × 2.6 × 2.5 cm = 1.06” × 1.02” × 0.98”

Main crystal size: 1.1 × 1 cm = 0.43” × 0.39”

JFD110AO3: Fluorapatite with Siderite and Muscovite
Fine, elegant and on matrix, this small specimen shows us why Panasqueira stands out from any other locality for its fluorapatites.

Druse of Fluorapatite crystals with a short prismatic habit, doubly terminated, translucent, with bright luster and an intense and uniform green color. PV91AJ5: Fluorapatite with Siderite, Muscovite, Marcasite and Arsenopyrite
Thick tabular Fluorapatite crystals with a very well defined concentric color zoning, a kind of growth that at Panasqueira is well-known as 'olho de boi' (ox eye). The Fluorapatite crystals are on matrix with crystals of Arsenopyrite, pale brown lenticular Siderite, Muscovite and Marcasite.
Minas da Panasqueira, Aldeia de São Francisco de Assis, Covilhã, Castelo Branco, Cova da Beira, Centro Region  Portugal

WWE16CD1: Fluorapatite with Sphalerite and Siderite
Notable for several reasons. Due to its pedigree, since it belonged to the Natural History Museum of Los Ángeles and was later in the Raúl Sanabria collection, and for the Fluorapatite / Sphalerite association, which is rare in Panasqueira, and for its perfection, without the slightest defect or damage. An excellent piece, which carries with it a lot of added value.
