Group of yellow Baryte crystals, translucent and very bright, very aerial and with scepter growths, something very noteworthy for the locality of origin and not at all common for the species.
The specimen comes from the Alain Martaud collection and was found in an area separated by a few meters from the classic spot where this type of specimens was collected.
The Liauzun ravine is a ravine located in the Olloix commune. Baryte from Liauzun occurs along fractures and small cavities within a carbonate sedimentary setting, related to low-temperature vein-type mineralization. Baryte forms bladed aggregates and tabular crystals (and, rarely, scepter crystals) linked to late-stage hydrothermal fluid circulation.
