ECB67AP6: Wulfenite with Calcite
Group of Wulfenite crystals with a clearly hemihedral pyramidal shape, with one of the terminations being very sharp and the opposite one finely polycrystalline. With a very bright luster and very vivid color, on matrix and with a group of white Calcite crystals that partially cover it. A classic, very characteristic of the locality, but on the other hand unusual, with that Calcite covering the Wulfenite.

MX470AL4: Wulfenite with Calcite
Wulfenite crystals very rich in crystal forms, well individualized, with a very intense and uniform color and good luster, on matrix and with small rhombohedral Calcite crystals. Excellent specimen from a classic American locality, coming from an old collection. The Red Cloud Mine is a low-sulfidation hydrothermal deposit hosted in Paleozoic limestones of the Sonoran Desert, world-renowned for its exceptional red-orange Wulfenite crystals. The mine is part of a vein system rich in lead and silver, with abundant secondary oxides and molybdates formed during supergene oxidation.

Uncommon crystalline forms for the locality. The crystals, very rich in forms, have slight curvatures and color zoning and are partially coated by white globular Calcite.

Novelty from Tucson 2008. Unusual morphology. Wulfenite crystals formed by elongated and curved prism faces. Color is yellow, slightly orange. With small Calcite crystals on a Limonite matrix.
This specimen was photographed for the ‘Börsen-News / Tucson '08’ section of the magazine ‘Mineralien Welt’ and appears on page 16 of number 3/2008.
