EX27AF7: Copper (neoformed)
Aggregate of deformed and rounded crystals. A curious growth that is the result of the removal of copper during the mining in which the copper recrystallizes sometimes acquiring the shapes of the objects and machines it has grown on.
In other words, this copper has been formed naturally but is "neoformed" since its origin may be due to human activity in an old abandoned mine.

Floater spheroidal aggregate of native Copper crystals pseudomorphous after Aragonite. The condition has very well retained the original pseudohexagonal aragonite shape. These Bolivian classics are usually in individual crystals, the aggregates with a many crystals are very rare.

EZR99AP2: Copper and Calcite with Copper inclusions
Scalenohedral crystals of Calcite, one of them clearly dominant, accompanied by leafy aggregates of Copper surrounding the Calcite crystals externally, but with the particularity that other Copper crystals are included within the scalenohedrons of Calcite, giving them the reddish color so characteristic of this type of specimen, an American classic. Quincy Mine is located in the city of Hancock, Houghton County, Michigan State, United States. It forms part of the historic copper mining district of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, one of the most important regions in the world for native copper production during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The mine became known as 'Old Reliable' because of its long and steady copper output. Geologically, the mineralization belongs to the Lake Superior copper district, characterized by native copper deposits associated with Proterozoic basaltic volcanic rocks of the Keweenawan Group. Copper occurs filling amygdaloidal cavities and fractures within basalts and volcanic conglomerates, commonly associated with secondary minerals such as Calcite, Epidote, Prehnite, and Datolite.

MBX87XXX: Copper on Riebeckite
Delicate sculpture formed by very fine Copper crystals, very aerial and in the form of thin laminae, which have grown on a Riebeckite matrix, resulting in a very balanced and fine specimen. It comes from a copper and bornite mineralization at the contact between serpentinites and calcareous schists, near Briançon, in the French Alps, in a mine where mining work was carried out from the Paleolithic until the 1960s.

TXR13CD6: Copper with Analcime
Very aerial group formed by well-defined Copper crystals in stalagmitic growth, with their characteristic bronze color that has not been lost even though it is a very old specimen. A large and sharp Analcime crystal makes the piece even more attractive. This specimen, well documented and of very considerable size, comes from the Fernando Reyna collection and it is very noteworthy that the Copper crystals are so well defined in such a large specimen.

TV46AJ8: Copper with Calcite
Very aerial dendritic native Copper growths on matrix with aggregates of complex Calcite crystals that are translucent, bright, and have a pale pink color. This association of native Copper and well crystallized Calcite is known but rare at Keweenaw.

TT47N0: Copper with Cerussite and Cuprite
A novelty for Tucson 2009. Dendritic aggregate crystals, deformed but very sharp faces and edges. Partially covered by octahedral crystals of Cuprite and small crystals of Cerussite, which is a very uncommon paragenesis. The sample is from a recent find (July and August of 2008) at a Russian locality practically unknown until now.
The specimen has been reviewed, photographed and published as a new discovery in the magazine ‘Rivista Mineralogica Italiana’ on page 280 in number 2009/4
